North Northants Council (NNC) plans to refurbish several of its offices in Wellingborough: The decision to do the upgrades was taken at a meeting of NNC’s Executive Committee on Tuesday 14th July in the Council Chamber in Corby. It is reported that the upgrades will cost £3.8 million.

On 3rd July 2026, the Salvation Army celebrated the 30th anniversary of opening its charity shop in Church Street, Rushden. The charity shop helps fund their work to support the most vulnerable and marginalised people. Mayor of Rushden, Cllr. The A6 bridge between Higham Ferrers and Irthlingborough was a very early “bypass”. It took north-south traffic over the Nene (and the railway that used to run alongside the river.)
