Reform-controlled North Northants Council (NNC) are planning to extend the programme of closures of the A6 bridge over the River Nene at Irthlingborough. NNC stated that the work was a phased re-waterproofing and expansion joint replacement of the reinforced concrete viaduct. It had been hoped that the repair work would be completed during May 2026.
