St. Peters Church in Rushden has recently welcomed a new rector, the Venerable Simon Heathfield.
The church itself has a completely novel problem. Despite protests, North Northants Council (NNC) installed electric charging points in the road next to the church entrance. Only electric vehicles can park adjacent to these chargers.
This will cause problems the next time that the church holds a funeral service. Few, if any, hearses are electric-powered. They are therefore barred from parking outside the church.
If a hearse cannot park next to the church, where does it park?
