Rush2theDen is a Rushden success story. This was recognised when Rush2theDen was awarded The King’s Award for Voluntary Service (the equivalent of an MBE for voluntary groups).
Volunteers at Rush2theDen give vital support to families and young people and fundraising is an essential part of the work for the team.
Rushden is very proud of the Den, but not everyone feels that way. Recently, a collection box at the Den was stolen. The box contained between £400 and £600, money that was donated to help fund the excellent work done by the Den.
Founder of Rush2theDen, Nina Robinson said:
“I’m really, really disappointed in the fact that somebody felt the need and the opportunity to steal basically the coins and coinbox from the little ones. Some of them put their pocket money in for instance, and we’ve got to now work harder again to regain.”
CCTV caught images of the burglar and a car that they were using. Hopefully this will lead to the money being recovered.
