A football pitch with permanent goals is being installed adjacent to the skate park on Wellingborough’s Hemmingwell Estate.
It is funded by Greatwell Homes, with support from other bodies, including, North Northamptonshire Council, Northamptonshire Sport, Premier League Kicks, and the Northamptonshire Football Association.
Connie G. Penn, Strategic Lead for the HemmingWellBeing Programme said:
“It is a delight to see how what began as a simple request to Jo Savage, CEO of Greatwell Homes, for support to provide a free football facility for the community has now been fully realised. This has only been possible because every organisation involved came together – not just to deliver the facility itself, but to work in genuine partnership to explore programmes that will help the community make maximum use of it.”
