Northamptonshire Police are using Live Facial Recognition (LFR) cameras. They have currently deployed them in Northampton, Kettering and Corby. They plan to use them in Wellingborough on Wednesday 13th May 2026.
It is part of Operation Relentless – an operation aimed at high-risk individuals.
On behalf of the Force, DCS Steve Watkins said:
“We know it gets busier in the summer and that there are more people out. We want to maximise our opportunity to identify people who are wanted, high‑risk or outstanding.”
A Northants Police spokesperson said:
“Members of the public will see signage in place around any operational areas, and uniformed officers will be available to answer questions and provide reassurance.”
