Many of our towns sport festive lights in the run-up to Christmas. Several of the towns, including Rushden, celebrate the ‘switching on’ ceremony with entertainment and a Winter Fair.
The Rushden Lights run along the High Street and are enhanced each year. They and the other festive decorations take the councillors and staff of Rushden Town Council many hours to set up.
The attractions, once again, included reindeer who transported Santa to and from his grotto in a sleigh as well as featuring a visit from The Grinch.
When Rushden’s Town Mayor, Cllr. Gill Mercer, switched the Lights on, the Street was filled with revellers. The lights of the fairground rides and the stalls all added to the sparkle.
