Pokemon has become truly mainstream and is played by many. There are regular tournaments, and contests. Pokemon ‘cards’ are traded and highly prized. Wildphire Collectibles in Rushden caters for this trade. They are based at 91 High Street, Rushden. They now have a Kids Club that meets every Saturday.
For better or for worse, online computer games have become a major part of our culture. Many young people (and older ones!) spend more time sitting at a computer screen and clicking a mouse than they do watching TV. For many people, “Minecraft”, “Fortnite” and their brethren are more important than Coronation Street or Eastenders.
Award-winning Rush2theDen run a number of sessions for young people with different needs.
