“Aim High” was a festival in Higham Ferrers organised by Alisa’s Aim. This is a local charity supporting cancer patients and parents of neonatal babies with essential care packs.
The festival was held on Saturday, 19th September and was spread across multiple locations in Higham Ferrers, without losing its local ‘feel’.
Local rock bands performed on the Recreation Ground. They were loud, but no louder than the gunfire on the Castle Fields from the re-enactment being held there.
A free ferris wheel ride attracted hordes of youngsters, and there were plenty of other attractions.
* Climbing wall and inflatables
* Dinosaurs, mascots and circus skills
* Face painting and glitter tattoos
* Gaming bus and children’s activities
* 30-piece steel pan band
* Yoga, meditation and calmer activities
* Markets, stalls, food and refreshments
* Dedicated SEND sensory and quiet area
Activities also spread to Chichele Gardens, the Green Dragon pub and the Methodist Church.
It was the first year it had been run, but looks set to be repeated again next year.
