Reform-led North Northamptonshire Council (NNC) has recently run into some problems.
On Tuesday 9th June, NNC’s Finance Portfolio Holder, Cllr Graham Cheatley, defended NNC’s handling of its finances, despite an overspend of £13.8 million.
“More councils are relying on exceptional financial support and Section 114 notices, once rare, have become normalised”.
Then, on Thursday 11th June, NNC’s newly-elected Chairman had to step down after a series of embarrassing social media posts came to light.
Councillor Maurice Eglin had only been the Chairman of NNC since 21st May.
