Rushden’s Jubilee Park is celebrating its centenary.
The Park is located on the southern edge of Rushden, adjacent to Bedford Road and Kingsmead Park. 100 years ago, it was donated to the Town by the Rushden Industrial Co-operative Society and was named to mark the 50th anniversary of the Society, i.e. its Jubilee!
The Park became the property of East Northamptonshire District Council in 1974, when the former Rushden Urban District Council was abolished. It later returned to Rushden ownership in 2001 shortly after Rushden Town Council was created.
Under the ownership of Rushden Town Council, the Park has seen significant investment.
The Park encompasses two rugby pitches and a soccer pitch, as well as a large upgraded and very popular skateboard park. (See page 3.) The Town Council has also provided changing rooms. (See page 2.)
