Jubilee Park’s skateboard park in Rushden is a substantial one, with multiple paths.
The original well-used ramps were wooden, but unfortunately, by 2014, it had become apparent that the whole structure was unsafe and in danger of collapsing.
Rushden Town Council were forced to take the difficult decision to demolish the ramp. They then began investigating sources of funding and set up a working party, involving users of the skateboard park, to design new ramps that would meet the needs of the community.
After careful consideration, the old ramps were replaced with concrete ones designed with various tracks to suit all levels of users. The new ramps officially opened on 16th July 2016.
The concrete ramps were well received and have since been graffitied, by someone.
The graffiti designs on the ramps are more traditional than those decorating the changing rooms, but equally striking.
