NHS RSV Vaccine

Every winter, coughs and colds proliferate. They are mostly caused by viruses and can make you seriously ill.

One such virus is Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV) and we now have a vaccine against it. The vaccine is offered by the NHS if you’re pregnant, aged 75 to 79, or turned 80 after 1 September 2024.

Most people recover from RSV, but not all.

RSV can cause pneumonia (a lung infection) and bronchiolitis (a chest infection that affects babies)

Local GPs are offering the vaccine for those who are eligible, and it well worth taking up the offer if you are eligible.
