The Bell Inn in Finedon is no ordinary pub and possibly the oldest pub in the country. It is believed that the pub first received its licence from King Edward the Confessor in the 11th Century, that is even before the Norman Invasion!
The most recent landlord was probably the longest-serving in the country, having been pulling pints for around 56 years.
That makes it especially sad that the Bell Inn delivered its last pint on Sunday
25th January 2026.
The Bell was the last pub in Finedon and therefore leaves the town without a pub. (Nevertheless, Finedon Conservative Club is still open to new Members!)
