Last month, Nene Herald reported that Cancer Research (UK) planned to close their store in Rushden. This they have now done.
They’ve decided to centralise and concentrate on larger stores. They stated:
“…like many high street retailers, we’re faced with rising costs, inflationary pressures, and changing consumer habits — including reduced footfall, higher national insurance contributions, and growing competition from online resale platforms.”
Their nearest stores now appear to be in Kettering and Northampton.
Local people were disappointed that Cancer Research have chosen to move out and lose their local connection.
