Rushden Parochial Charity is a small charity that dates back in the 19th Century. It was set up to help those in need and provides a safety net for Rushden’s folk.
The Charity makes small grants. Anyone within the town can apply and if they are in genuine need, the Charity will endeavour to help them out.
Examples where the Charity has helped out are:
- Deposits on rented flats for new tenants.
- a new oven for someone who couldn’t otherwise cook meals
- Bus tickets for pupils who couldn’t otherwise attend school.
As it is a small Charity with limited funds, grants are typically limited to around £500. For those in need, a helping hand even of this size can be a lifesaver.
The Charity can be contacted via the Town Council on 01933-316216.
